UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on January 23, 2021, at the Flash Forum on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The last time fight fans saw Conor McGregor inside the UFC octagon came in January 2019. The sighting was almost Bigfoot-esque in its brevity. McGregor knocked out Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds in that bout, which headlined UFC 246. McGregor is scheduled to make his UFC return on January 23, 2021, at UFC 257.The former two-division UFC champion faces former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier in the fight. The two met in 2014. McGregor scored a first-round knockout win over Poirier in that contest. Two fights later, McGregor won the interim featherweight title with a TKO victory over Chad Mendes. McGregor unified the lightweight titles in his next outing when he knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194. The odds in the first McGregor vs. Poirier meeting opened with Poirier being a -225 favorite over the Irish fighter, who came in at +190. Those odds shifted and on fight night McGregor was a -276 favorite over Poirier, who was the +159 underdog.Poirier moved to lightweight after his loss to McGregor. He went on a four-fight winning streak before losing to Michael Johnson in 2016. Poirier’s record in his next five bouts was 4-0-0-1. That stretch earned him a shot at the interim lightweight title. Poirier won that belt with a unanimous decision win over Max Holloway. He lost to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in a title unification bout in 2019. Poirier is coming off a June 2020 unanimous decision win over Dan Hooker. After his win over Aldo, McGregor went 1-1 against Nate Diaz at welterweight. He followed those two bouts with a knockout win over Eddie Alvarez to earn the lightweight title. The UFC stripped McGregor of his two titles for inactivity. When he returned to action in October 2018, Nurmagomedov stopped McGregor via submission in the fourth round of their lightweight title contest. McGregor followed that loss with the Cerrone win.The odds for the rematch between McGregor and Poirier, which will be contested at 155 pounds, opened with McGregor as the -175 favorite over Poirier, who opened at +150. Those odds have changed. McGregor is currently a -250 favorite over Poirier, who is the +174 underdog according to BestFightOdds.UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 - EmbeddedUFC 257 Free Fight: Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 1UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 – Ready For War | Official TrailerUFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 - Extended PreviewUFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 | "We Go Again" | Extended Promo, 2021McGregor vs Poirier 2 Extended Promo | I ACCEPT | UFC 257 PreviewMcGregor vs Poirier 2 Extended UFC 257 PreviewConor Mcgregor vs Dustin Poirier 2 UFC promo, The Rematch Trailer, Old Town Road.mcgregor poirier 2 press conferencemcgregor poirier 2 promomcgregor poirier 2 ko макгрегор порье нокаутмакгрегор порье промоmcgregor poirier 2 full fightmcgregor poirier 2 highlightsмакгрегор порье 2 полный бойIt had to happen sooner or later. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the UFC has been running events at a breakneck pace in 2020. But for the first time in months, they’ve got multiple weeks lined up without an event. Which means it’s a great time to get fans hyped for the next big card.To that end, the UFC just dropped a fresh promo for UFC 257. The PPV card goes down on January 23rd next year and will be headlined by what promises to be a violent rematch between former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier and former double-champ Conor McGregor. While we could see Michael Chandler vs. Justin Gaethje as a co-main event, that’s not official yet. We do know that Jessica Eye vs. Joanne Calderwood and Amanda Ribas vs. Marina Rodriguez are among the fights slated for this show. Here is what else is on tap for UFC 257, which does not have an official bout order yet:Conor McGregor vs. Dustin PoirierJessica Eye vs. Joanne CalderwoodKhalil Rountree vs. Marcin PrachnioAmanda Ribas vs. Marina RodriguezShane Burgos vs. Hakeem DawoduAndrew Sanchez vs. Andre MunizOttman Azaitar vs. Matt FrevolaAmir Albazi vs. Zhalgas ZhumagulovNasrat Haqparast vs. Arman TsarukyanBrad Tavares vs. Antonio Carlos JuniorUmar Nurmagomedov vs. Sergey Morozov
